Running to numerous editions, Stormbringer from Chaosium drops characters into the world of the Elric of Melniboné stories by Michael Moorcock, taking its name from Elric's sword. The ruleset is based on Chaosium's BRP system.

The first three editions were, rules-wise, virtually identical. The Third Edition was published as a hardback by UK publishers Games Workshop on Chaosium's behalf.

In 2001, a D20 version was released under the name Dragon Lords of Melniboné.
