The Second Edition of Dream Pod 9's Heavy Gear, introduced in 1997, is broadly compatible with the First Edition. The core role-playing part of the ruleset remained the same but there were changes to the tactical combat system. Of note are the Storyline books: these provide a rich resource for those who want to delve into the rich history of the game universe.
