2300AD: USS Hampton

USS Hampton

With beautifully-detailed deckplans - right down to the captain's desk lamp in his cabin and a boardgame in the commonroom! - this product presents the Hampton-class destroyer escort, a military vessel belonging to the American space navy. There is also a detailed history of the designing of this class (including the embarassment of having another ship in the class being completed before the USS Hampton himself!), the exploits of the USS Hampton and a list of all vessels in this class. An added bonus is some fiction describing an action aboard ship.

As well as the deckplans, there is a Ship Status Sheet for when you need to take the ship into combat. If you like using miniatures but don't have appropriate ones to hand there are some neat paper standees to cut out - ship's crew (including an officer wearing his cap), troopers in helmets with weapons and a few Kafer: just the thing if you want to run a scenario in which the Kafer attempt to board.

So, what use is this? If your game is centred around a party who are serving in the American Navy, then this could be the ship to which they have been posted. Other characters might have some reason or other to visit (by their own volition or otherwise). Or you may come up with something quite different... perhaps after long service, the Hampton (or at least a Hampton-class vessel) is sold off to the highest bidder, that just happens to be the party, or their employers. Whatever, if you have need of a smallish military ship, this is a nice one!
