Savage Worlds: Dungeoncrawl

Dungeoncrawl

This adventure is designed to show Savage Worlds in its fantasy aspect, and should be run as 'swords and sorcery' - with the accent on swords! It could be adapted with little difficulty to a more general (perhaps contemporary) horror setting, though.

Arriving in a strangely-deserted village, our brave heroes are approached by the local sheriff who says that the village has been struck by a plague, and they need gold to pay for assistance - now the local Baron, a greedy and nasty chap, has plenty, but although he has died himself from the plague, his shade still haunts his manor house. Perhaps such brave folk could go and retrieve the gold? Sounds like the normal sort of thing adventurers do...

Of course, all is not as it seems. The manor house is haunted, affected by the dying curse of the Baron - but he was cursing a bandit who'd tried to rob him, a bandit who is now posing as the village sheriff! His aim is to get the characters to do his dirty work.

The characters will have to deal with wave upon wave of 'spawn' generated by the now undead Baron, and find their way to a vault deep in the building where the treasure (and the undead Baron) are to be found. Once they've done that, they will discover that the fake sheriff is lying in ambush...

A fairly straightforward but well-written adventure that should keep GM and players entertained for an action-packed evening.
